Dear Mama,

We’re here for you.

In 2024, bringing a new life into the world should be nothing but pure happiness, not an impending threat to a mother's life.

The Problem

The United States has the highest maternal mortality rate among high-income countries. (The Common Wealth Fund, 2024)

Black and Indigenous women are 2 and 3 times more likely than white women to die from complications of pregnancy and birth. (Johns Hopkins, 2023)

Within the U.S., the maternal mortality rate is the highest for Black women. The majority of these deaths — over 80% — are likely preventable. (U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2024)

The majority of maternal deaths in the U.S. occur in the postpartum period, from one day after giving birth to a full year later.

Sis, we hear it, see it, and feel it too. We got you.
